After seeing their competitor, Marvel Studios, gain a tremendous amount of success with their live-action superhero movies, DC Comics has been putting together a plan for many of their superhero characters to hit the big screen.
They already have a successful Batman franchise, DC is rebooting Superman with next year's Man of Steel but they also hit a bumpy road with last summer's Green Lantern.
Next up is The Flash.
"Warner Brothers is in the process of figuring out what their method is for releasing their superhero movies,” Dan Mazeau said to IFC.com regarding his working script of the movie. "They had Green Lantern come out, and I think ‘Flash’ is high on the list of what would be next."
"It's a matter of a lot of things coming together—the right story and the right filmmaker and the right sort of visual approach to Flash, because he can't just be a guy who runs fast,” Mazeau said. "That was important to me while I was writing my script. Fingers crossed, though—hopefully there will be some news soon."
