Actor Taylor Kitsch may have conceded to the fact he was wrong to say he wouldn't reprise his role of the X-Men character Gambit in future Marvel movies a few months back.
He said this before John Carter was released and Kitsch was probably assuming he wouldn't have to play Gambit again. The buzz was big for John Carter and potential sequels could have resulted, but then it turned into one of the biggest financial movie flops ever.
Now that Kitsch realizes John Carter sequels may not be in the cards, he has opened himself back up to playing Gambit once again.
"I would, man. I know Hugh [Jackman]’s doing [The] Wolverine soon, so I’m not planting a seed in any way, but if he called me and wanted me to do a cameo in it or something, I’d do it," Kitsch said to DeanofGeek.com. "But I haven’t been approached by anyone."
The actor said the out pour of fan support to see him as Gambit once again has been wonderful too.
"What’s been really flattering is that a lot of fans want to see it. And that’s the best compliment you can get, is that people want to see you again in that role," Kitsch said. "And I loved playing him—he’s a suave [motherf***er]. He’s fun to play, man. So I’d love to do it. But I doubt it’ll happen."
Whether or not 20th Century Fox decides to try a Gambit spin-off is unknown but you can bet this isn't the last we've heard from Kitsch about playing the Ragin' Cajun on the big screen again.
