Marvel Now Deadpool No. 1 has potential to continue reading but needs more funny and insanity

This is a "better late than never" post since Marvel released Deadpool No. 1 last week for its Marvel Now comic universe re-launch.

Oh, and since this book has been out for a week here's your SPOILER ALERT about the story.

Deadpool is facing-off against past U.S. Presidents who are undead. The concept is simple but the first issue only has one quick moment of fun when Deadpool is first seen. Because of the story concept alone, this book is good enough to buy, read and continue buying to see how everything shakes out between Deadpool and the presidents.

Deadpool has been hired on by S.H.I.E.L.D. to fight off the undead presidents since S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't want to send in its top-tier heroes. Mainly because they don't want their big name heroes to be seen in public punching Abe Lincoln or FDR in the face. Undead or not.

Again, great story idea but the execution could be improved since Deadpool needs to talk to himself more. And where's the funny? This book is written by comedian Brian Posen and G4TV's Attack of the Show writer Gerry Duggan. It should be funnier but it wasn't. However, the art is fantastic thanks to The Walking Dead artist Tony Moore.

Deadpool No. 1 is worthy of picking up and following for at least the first story arc. Hopefully, it will get a bit more funny (and insane) ... finger crossed. This book gets a 7.5 out of 10 but has big potential too.
