When the Marvel Studios Phase 1 box set hit store shelves in the beginning of April, concept art was also released teasing Marvel's Phase 2 movies.
One piece of concept art that was revealed was of the Winter Soldier in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In the comics, the Winter Soldier wears a mask only over his eyes but in the concept art he has a mask covering most of his face.
Now, making the rounds on the Internet, is an image of that concept art next to an image of the New Goblin from Spider-Man 3. See that creepily similar image below. Thankfully it's just concept art and can change, if it hasn't already done so. Marvel should make a change though.
It seems logical that the Winter Soldier would mask his face seeing as how he is Cap's old friend Bucky Barnes, whom was thought to be dead after falling off a train in Captain America: The First Avenger. Kept on ice, brainwashed (by an unknown source) to be an assassin and retrofitted with a robotic arm, the Winter Soldier's identity can't be revealed to Cap early in the film to increase the suspense of the actual reveal.
Lets just hope the mask is less New Goblin and a bit more assassin-like in its final big screen look.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Rumored to Explore Vibranium, Could be a BLACK PANTHER Tease
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Confirmed to Film Big Action Scene During 2 Weeks of Cleveland Highway Closure
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Confirmed to Have a Washington D.C. Setting
