The war for Quicksilver continues between Fox's Bryan Singer and Marvel Studios' Joss Whedon. While the character's movie rights are shared between both studios, it seriously seems like both directors are taking shots at each other.
The first punch was made by Singer, who tweeted out that Quicksilver was suddenly, and randomly, cast in X-Men Days of Future Past only a week or so after Whedon announced the speedster would be a big part of The Avengers 2.
Singer cast former Kick-Ass supporting actor Evan Peters as Quicksilver in his movie but Whedon might have one-upped him. TheWrap has now reported that Marvel and Whedon are looking at none other than the actual star of Kick-Ass Aaron Taylor-Johnson to play the role of Pietro Maximoff in The Avengers Sequel.
Whedon's version of the character needs a stronger leading actor to play the role since Singer's version is reportedly just a very small role in the X-Men sequel. So it makes sense why Taylor-Johnson could be the choice.
Stay tuned as the battle for Quicksilver is just a fun story to watch develop between the two studios.
