Can you feel the build-up to San Diego Comic-Con International 2014 at the end of this month yet? You should because this is the time of the year when the rumor mill is working overtime and studios begin officially teasing information about their upcoming films.
Warner Bros. has stepped up to the plate to create a buzz around Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice by releasing the first official image of actor Henry Cavill in full Superman costume. (What's your retort Marvel? Fox? Sony?)
Director Zack Snyder also was quoted by USA Today talking about both Superman and Batman.
"[Cavill and I] both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit. The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me," Snyder said and then continued about bring Batman to this movie. "I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie, but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in."
Snyder then discussed why he and Warner Bros. settled with using just the letter 'v' in the title of the film.
"[B]ut suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names [and this was done] to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."
Finally, if you were looking for some Batman origin scenes in BvS, the director revealed you won't get that in this movie. Snyder says that Batman culture is so well-known that he can just jump right to an older version of the Caped Crusader. Plus, he said "it's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys."
