Talking to Myself: In CAPTAIN AMERICA 3, Will Steve Rogers Travel to Wakanda to Repair His Broken Shield?

Last week at the 2014 Comic-Con International, Marvel revealed Captain America's shield in Avengers: Age of Ultron. And fans went crazy when it was revealed because it was broken.

So I'm going to talk to myself about Cap's broken shield...

Wait. What?! Did you just say that Cap's unbreakable vibranium shield can be broken?

Yes.

How is this possible?

Well, Cap's shield has been broken in the comics and in cartoons and now it seems like Marvel Studios is adapting this over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well.

But I still don't understand ... how can something that absorbs energy be broken? Wouldn't the vibranium of the shield always prevent this from happening because ... well ... it absorbs?

Since vibranium isn't a real thing anything is possible. Especially when you're talking about a maniacal death robot like Ultron, who is probably the one who breaks the shield. Unless it's Hulk who breaks it.

Stop right there ... Hulk?! That would be insanely awesome if he went crazy and did that! But let's get back to fixing Cap's shield. So if vibranium is hard to come by and Cap's shield was made with the last of it, how will the shield get fixed?

In the comics, there is a place in South Africa called Wakanda and this is the home of T'Challa, the Black Panther. In the comics, and even in the television series Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Cap goes to Wakanda and Black Panther uses their secret reserve of vibranium to fix his shield.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you implying that Black Panther could finally be coming to the big screen in Captain America 3?

Maybe. It's a theory which was brought to my attention by a close friend. I certainly do like his idea, too. A lot!

Based on the ending of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, what's the connection between it and a threequel?

Without knowing story details of Avengers: Age of Ultron, I'll assume that when Cap and Falcon go after the Winter Soldier (at the end of Cap 2), they are sidetracked by the events of Age of Ultron and then continue on their path to pursue the Winter Soldier in Cap 3. But first they'll need to make a stop in Wakanda to fix the shield.

So you're assuming Captain America 3 will be a team-up of Cap, Falcon and Panther all going after the Winter Soldier?

I doubt Panther will join up in Cap and Falcon's pursuit of the Winter Soldier. However, it would be more of a quick introduction to the Black Panther instead of giving him his own solo origin film. This is all my own speculation, but if Marvel Studios is having any issues trying to develop Panther his own solo movie, then this type of origin intro in Cap 3 would make sense.

You do realize that most the Black Panther fans will hate this theory because they want him in his own solo origin film, right?

I do know this but this is also just one guy's opinion on how to fix Cap's shield after it's broken in Age of Ultron and to quickly intro Panther into the MCU in let's say a quick 15 minute sequence in Captain America 3.

It is a good theory, by the way.

Thanks voice inside my head, I appreciate the compliment!
