Did X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Change the Past For WOLVERINE? Seems Like He's Headed to Weapon X Anyway

X-Men Days of Future Past was able to cancel out X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine for the future timeline cast but what about the path for the film's mutants in the past? Hints of time traveling events unleashing Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse have been hinted by those developing the movie so the younger X-Men cast is being set up for an epic event.

But what about Wolverine? At the end of X-Men Days of Future Past he is seen being saved from drowning by a young William Stryker — who is actually Mystique in disguise — and about to be taken to the Weapon X Program, slightly different (but in the end not really) than how his past is supposed to play out. At one point during Days of Future Past, Hank McCoy does say how time travel may not effect the future because time may have a set path and changing the past may only cause different events to occur leading up to its predestined future results.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies UK, writer/producer Simon Kinberg has teased that Wolverine's path might be more back on track with one that is pretty much the same path and his timeline hasn't been altered so much in order to acquire his adamantium skeleton and claws.

“We don’t see it because he doesn’t pop his claws at the end of the movie [but like with elements of the story] perhaps how he got his claws is different. But he lands ultimately in the same destination."

This is some speculation by The Daily SuperHero, it sounds like Wolverine's past timeline won't be affected too much — at least not until Apocalypse arrives and starts causing chaos — and he's headed back to Weapon X for some new metal additions. With X-Men: Apocalypse set to occur approximately 10 years after X-Men Days of Future Past, and in the 80s, it remains to be seen if fans will get see Wolverine's adamantium additions happen (again) but in all honestly fans should already know this part of Wolverine's past by now, too, so it doesn't need to be shown again.

X-Men: Apocalypse release in theaters on May 27, 2016.
