Bill Murray is known for being in Ghostbusters but he is also known for being against another Ghostbusters movie or reboot. From allegedly tearing up a script and mailing it back to Dan Aykroyd to allegedly saying no one wants to see fat old guys in jumpsuits [paraphrased], Murray hasn't been on board for anything Ghostbusters-related.
That is unless another Ghostbusters movie focuses on an all-female team. Only then would Murray be on board. But to watch it, not to star in it.
While speaking with SchmoesKnow.com Peter Venkman spoke about the rumored all-female Ghostbusters team, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
"It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it’s a grande idea, I don’t know who they’re talking about, but it’s a good idea, I would watch it! I mean, I love Robert Palmer’s videos, so why wouldn’t I love the female Ghostbusters?"
Sounds more like Venkman than Murray talking. But this is also one of the rare times Murray has spoken positively about another Ghostbusters movie. And that's definitely a new thing after years and years of being so negative toward another movie.
