There is no hotter story in the super hero community over the past week than Deadpool because he's finally getting his own solo movie. This shouldn't be a surprise seeing as how the Marvel anti-hero hero has steadily been increasing in popularity more than any other hero, over the past few years.
Deadpool has had his own video game, been featured in a LEGO set, been in the LEGO Marvel video game, action figures, tons of comic book and variant comic covers plus so much more. The guy has been busy popping up everywhere in the Marvel comic book universe... everywhere but in Marvel movies (let's not count that X-Men Origins: Wolverine film since X-Men Days of Future Past took care of removing that from movie canon).
Ever since the announcement of an official Deadpool solo movie hit the Internet, fans have gone crazy with excitement. Fans have also hit up online websites like Amazon and eBay to shop for all-things Deadpool. After researching the two top shopping websites a bit, The Daily SuperHero learned something very interesting (and quite obvious). There's been a huge spike in sales of Deadpool merchandise.
On eBay, fans have been scooping up Deadpool's first appearance comic book (New Mutants No. 98) and the prices are starting to skyrocket. Which is crazy because the price of the book was already steadily increasing and averaged a selling price around $120 but now this issue is pushing $200 within the week of its movie announcement. Sadly, if you didn't already have Deadpool's first appearance then the only way you're going to get it now is if you pay a lot of money to obtain it. And its price is only going to continue climbing higher and higher so act now.
Maybe these few items are not your cup of tea or too expensive for your budget, no worries because there's plenty of Deadpool comics and merch available including the basic Funko Pop! Vinyl figures which are still in stock on Amazon. But act quick because if you hesitate, only then will an item you desire suddenly sell out and then you'll be kicking yourself wishing you would have bought it when it was in stock.
Trust me, I'm a collector too and this has happened to me way too often in the past so if I want it and can afford it, I buy it immediately so I don't have buyer's regret and have to pay premium prices due to it being out of stock.
If you're looking to pre-order anything Deadpool, Sideshow Collectibles will start taking pre-order for their sixth scale figure on September 25 and Entertainment Earth is now taking pre-orders for the new Funko POP! Vinyl Deadpool in his X-Men uniform.
