ANT-MAN: Corey Stoll Teases YELLOWJACKET by Saying Darren Cross Doesn't Realize He's the Villain



Not much is known about the main villain in Marvel's Ant-Man except he is Darren Cross, who's film presence is being adapted for Ant-Man and who also becomes the film adaptation of Yellowjacket, played by actor Corey Stoll (House of Cards). Some of the mystery surrounding this villain has been revealed as the actor teased his character in a interview (from SDCC 2014) with Clevver.com.

"[Daren Cross] is not a villain in the vein of Thanos or Loki, who are villains that know it. [Cross] is a guy who is not that dissimilar from Michael Douglas' character, Hank Pym. A brilliant scientist, who is not ethically pure. I think a great thing about the whole movie is that everybody in this movie is in those shades of gray a little bit. I think it will be a fun character to create."

For fans who may not know, Cross and Yellowjacket are not one in the same in the comic book universe. They are actually two different people with Cross being a comic book antagonist and Yellowjacket being another alter-ego of Dr. Hank Pym.

Also, if you didn't know, Pym is not only Ant-Man in the comics but he has also been Giant Man, Goliath, Wasp and Yellowjacket. Seeing as how actor Michael Douglas is portraying an older Pym in Marvel's Ant-Man, you can't have him running around in multiple super hero personas so all of Pym's other iterations are being adapted for film... starting with Yellowjacket. Talk about a complex character! Which is why it'll be interesting to see Douglas as an older Pym who is not a fan of the concept of super heroes — according to the Comic-Con 2014 sizzle reel shown by Marvel Studios in their panel).

Ant-Man releases in theaters on July 17, 2015.
