Marvel Studios started filming Ant-Man mid-August in San Francisco and has since moved to its production home base at Pinewood in Atlanta. Ant-Man was thought to have already cast all its major roles needed for filming but there's another addition.
Sometimes things change in the script and story while filming and actors need to be added. This seems to be the case with Ant-Man and The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Marvel has cast actor Martin Donovan in an undisclosed role that is pivotal in the film.
Even though the role is not known, some might assume Donovan will play a younger version of Michael Douglas' character Dr. Hank Pym. However, it needs to be noted that Donovan and Douglas only have 13 years between them so any potential flashback sequence cannot go back too far in time. So maybe Donovan's role is something else.
Ant-Man releases in theaters on July 17, 2015.
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
