Report: Tom Hardy is Targeted For Fox's X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Lead Villain Role and For WB's SUICIDE SQUAD
Another actor name is already attached to Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. and DC's next super hero movie following Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. The Dark Knight Rises' Bane actor, Tom Hardy, is reportedly being targeted by the studio.
Hardy has previously been attached to the leading role for Marvel's Doctor Strange, but TheWrap.com reports this is no longer the case. Besides Suicide Squad, Hardy is also being eyed by 20th Century Fox for the leading villain role of Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse.
If Hardy wants a potential ongoing franchise role then Suicide Squad might be his best choice. However, if the actor prefers being a villain in the super hero genre then he could be the X-Men's biggest threat seen on the big screen since Fox's mutant franchise started in 2000. Stay tuned.
X-Men: Apocalypse releases in theaters on May 27, 2016. Suicide Squad is tentatively scheduled to be released in theater on August 5, 2016.
