Saying that there's a lot of trepidation for 20th Century Fox's reboot of The Fantastic Four is an understatement. Obviously because there's a tremendous amount in the fan base. Meanwhile, Fox hasn't done anything to stop all the fan fear for the reboot by releasing zero information about it... until now.
The studio has released the first official synopsis for the film and it's not as bad sounding as you might think.
“'The Fantastic Four,' a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."
The synopsis is brief and vague and does not clue fans into any details but the bottom line concept of the story does sound like an adventure that the Fantastic Four would go on in the comic book universe. Hopefully, more info is coming soon along with images and its first trailer. Stay tuned.
The Fantastic Four releases in theaters on August 7, 2015.
