The actor who has played a super hero role longer than any other actor, Hugh Jackman, has been doing some recent self-promoting for his Wolverine character. A couple of weeks ago, Jackman said he wants to be Wolverine as long as possible and this was less than a year after he said he only has two films left in him, as Wolverine, after X-Men Days of Future Past.
Now, Jackman has officially said (via MTV) he's open for a cameo role in next year's Deadpool.
"Ryan [Reynolds] is a really good friend of mine. I am really happy for him because he is a brilliant actor. He will nail [Deadpool] ... [and] ... They are definitely enemies in the comics. They always spark off well together. I would be open to that idea."
In the comics, Wolverine isn't really a big fan of Deadpool but Deadpool has a weird obsession with Wolverine and often makes Wolverine the butt of some of his jokes. If, and this is a big IF, Jackman lands a cameo in Deadpool with Ryan Reynolds it could make for some funny banter between the two characters that has only been seen in the pages of comic books. Plus, Jackman isn't opposed to a mere cameo appearance either. Remember his great cameo in X-Men: First Class?
Will it happen? Right now, it's unknown but a post-credit cameo could always be in the cards. Just saying.
Deadpool releases in theaters on February 12, 2016.
