Joss Whedon Says AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is the Hardest Job He's Ever Had and Fans Will Get More HULK

Writer and director Joss Whedon has lived and breathed the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the Avengers since he was hired in April 2010. When Avengers: Age of Ultron releases this May, he will have worked on all-things Avengers for just over five years. Not to mention he helped oversee Phase 2 MCU films as well.

The fact Whedon is a little burnt out shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. In an interview with SFX (via TheWrap) the writer/director revealed that being a part of the Avengers films has been the hardest thing he's ever done in his life.

"Shoot me in the face! It is a nightmare. I long for the simple movies like 'Serenity.' This is the hardest juggling act I have ever, ever tried to pull off.
“The joy of the Avengers is they really don’t belong in the same room. It’s not like the X-Men, who are all tortured by the same thing and have similar costumes. These guys are just all over the place. And so it’s tough. Honestly, this is as tough as anything I’ve ever done, and I haven’t worked this hard since I had three shows on the air."

Sounds like Whedon is being sincere and he deserves to be because helming two Avengers films can't be an easy task at all. It could create a bit of Hulk-like anger.

Speaking of Hulk, Whedon once again said that fans will get more of him in Age of Ultron.

"There is more Hulk in this movie than there was in the last first. What I love is we have the opportunity, because we went in with this mission statement, to shoot the Hulk like a character in a movie, and not like a ‘Look what we’ve got!’ … We really got to make him one of the characters in the movie. And that was a gift."

More Hulk is definitely a good thing since he did not get another solo movie in Phase 3, while Marvel has confirmed Hulk will show up in other Phase 3 films.

Avengers: Age of Ultron releases in theaters on May 1, 2015.
