As of right now not much is known about X-Men: Apocalypse except it starts filming this spring in Montreal. Also, it's known to be the final chapter of the X-Men: First Class trilogy which means some of those actors may not return after Apocalypse because their contract with 20th Century Fox expires.
One actor who won't return will be Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. She told MTV that X-Men: Apocalypse will be her last turn as the mutant.
“It is my last one, actually.” Lawrence told MTV and she then asserted her stance on not returning with a straight forward, “Yes.”
Let's speculate about this for a second. Maybe something happens to Mystique in the next X-Men movie that slightly alters her appearance hence making it possible for her to be easily recast. She is in fact a shape-shifter so anything is possible when it comes to recasting someone with this mutant power.
As the X-Men franchise moves forward, some of the First Class trilogy actors will be recast if they don't resign to a new X-contract with Fox. X-Men: Apocalypse releases in theaters on May 27, 2016.
