CAPTAIN MARVEL: Marvel Studios Hires GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and 'Inside Out' Scribes

Marvel has confirmed Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve are writing the script for CAPTAIN MARVEL. And please don't call it 'Marvel's Captain Marvel' as they have done in their official announcement article because, while it differentiates it from DC's Captain Marvel, it is way too redundant and headache inducing.

CAPTAIN MARVEL is coming to theaters on November 2, 2018 and Marvel is looking to assemble a new writing team for this highly anticipated leading female hero movie. According to a new report by The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is looking to pair the initial writer for the first draft of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAY, Nicole Perlman, and Pixar's Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve together to write CAPTAIN MARVEL.

THR writes:

Interestingly, Perlman and LeFauve are not a writing team but are being turned into one for this project. Both impressed Marvel’s Mr. Fantastic, Kevin Feige, with their separate takes; Feige and his team thought it best to combine the two for sensational results results.
(This is opposite of double development, a practice used by Warners for their DC projects in which writers are hired to work on two separate scripts with the goal of meshing them down the line.)
Marvel also made an effort to find female screenwriters to tackle the heroine. (Fun fact: When Marvel first had her own book in the 1970s, titled Ms. Marvel, the comic's tagline was "This female fights back!")
Dealmaking has not exactly been on going at the speed of Quicksilver with talks having begun in December.

Just this last weekend studio president Kevin Feige told the media CAPTAIN MARVEL is "...ready to announce writers hopefully in the next week or two." Seems like he wasn't lying.
