Marvel Studios has their directing duo with Anthony and Joe Russo but Warner Bros. wants a duo of their own, too. So WB looked inward and found a pair who they are already really familiar with.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were the Master Builders who created THE LEGO MOVIE and are working with Warner on its sequel and its LEGO BATMAN spin-off movie. Speaking of DC super heroes, which is owned by Warner, TheWrap is reporting that Lord and Miller will be tackling the story treatment for a planned Flash movie.
This comes at a time when Lord and Miller also have a very successful rapport with Sony Pictures (21 Jump Street franchise) and the studio would love for the guys to work on a GHOSTBUSTERS movie, since Sony plans to expand that franchise.
If Lord and Miller continue to write a script and a screenplay for THE FLASH, it's a good guess they might direct it too. If they are only writing the first story treatment, then there's still a chance Sony might land them for a possible GHOSTBUSTERS movie.
THE FLASH releases on March 23, 2018 and already has actor Ezra Miller cast in the leading role.
