CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR - Iron Man Looks Like He Will be in a Movie Version of his Bleeding Edge Armor

The first concept art for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR has been revealed and Tony Stark has once again evolved his Iron Man armor into a better version. While not much is known about Stark's armor in Civil War, for right now let's say it is called the 'Mark 46' armor. (In AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON he started off in his Mark 43 armor, then his Hulkbuster armor was Mark 44 and he wore his Mark 45 armor in the final battle.)

The concept art looks to be more based on Stark's Bleeding Edge armor from the comic book universe than any other incarnation of his Iron Man armor in any past Marvel Cinematic Universe film. In the past, I've written that the Mark 43 armor in Age of Ultron kind of resembled his Bleeding Edge suit while the Avengers sequel was in production and filming, but that was before the Mark 45 armor was revealed in Age of Ultron trailers. (The Mark 45 armor is the lead image of this post.)

The Mark 45 suit is much more of a step toward the Bleeding Edge armor but the Civil War concept art seems to imply 'Mark 46' could very well be the Bleeding Edge suit, finally. Let's compare the Mark 45 suit from Age of Ultron to the 'Mark 46' suit concept art for Civil War and with an image of the Bleeding Edge armor from the comic universe.

Mark 45 in Age of Ultron, 'Mark 46' concept art for Civil War, Bleeding Edge in the comics

As you can see there is a clear progression of the Iron Man suit becoming more sleeker and rounded. In the comics, Stark created the Bleeding Edge armor after he created his Extremis armor and the new armor was seen as a sign of Stark reinventing himself in the comic book universe.
