Warner Bros. started developing WONDER WOMAN last fall but, recently, the studio replaced former director Michelle MacLaren with director Petty Jenkins. Already attached to star in the title role is actor Gal Gadot who will be introduced in 2016's BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. is reportedly in talks with actor Chris Pine (Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness) to play the love interest Steve Trevor.
"Warners tested a handful of other actors but later decided to look at more high-profile names and go with a straight offer. Pine won over production execs and Gadot at his meeting, leading the studio to pursue him for the role."
In the comics, Trevor is a military officer who crashes on Paradise Island and is nursed back to health by Wonder Woman who then falls in love with him. Whether this will be seen in the film is unknown while WONDER WOMAN will reportedly be an origin story.
