Well this is a new twist to ANT-MAN. According to a set visit by SlashFilm, there is a connection between this movie and the IRON MAN films because of the newly revealed involvement of the 10 Rings terrorist organization in ANT-MAN.
"While it may not be visible in the final film, one of the characters... has a '10 Rings of the Mandarin' tattoo on the left side of his neck. This raises some big questions, and Hank Pym’s 'be careful' line to Cross suggests maybe he’s just one of several groups angling for this huge advance in technology."
The biggest reveal here is that it seems like Marvel Studios is still embracing the concept that a real and true Mandarin still exists somewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this looks to be turning into a slow burn for the eventual reveal of the real version of the villain.
