WOLVERINE 3, or THE WOLVERINE 2 whichever way you want to call it, is actor Hugh Jackman's last time in the role of the X-Men mutant. Jackman officially confirmed this in early May.
While it's still sad to acknowledge the fact his time is ending as Logan, 2017's WOLVERINE 3 is still a ways aways and there's been rumors Jackman could have a cameo in DEADPOOL and perhaps a small appearance in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE next year.
Back in March, The Daily SuperHero wrote an opinion post stating how Jackman's final Wolverine movie should be loosely based off of the 'Old Man Logan' comic book story arc. To read that post, click here. Many other websites followed suit and opined the same sentiment for Jackman's last turn with the role.
Well today it seems like logic might have found its way into writer/director James Mangold's WOLVERINE 3 script as Heroic Hollywood has reported on the YouTube show Popcorn Talk that 'Old Man Logan' is indeed the basis of the story. But that's all that was said, so take it with that good ol' grain of salt until Fox confirms more information about WOLVERINE 3.
UPDATE 6/19/2015 - 1:16 p.m. ET: Welp, sometimes a rumor is just a rumor and nothing more as the founder of Heroic Hollywood is now reporting that 'Old Man Logan' is not the basis for WOLVERINE 3.
