GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2: Benicio del Toro Reveals Why THE COLLECTOR Collects; No Word on the Sequel Yet



Actor Benicio del Toro bought Taneleer Tivan (a.k.a The Collector) to life in a cameo at the end of THOR: THE DARK WORLD and in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. In a new interview with IGN, del Toro said he hasn't heard about coming back for the sequel (yet), but he did open up about the character to share what Tivan's motivation is for collecting.

"I learned a lot about the character. One of the most interesting things that I learned about him is the reasons that he's collecting. He sees himself as putting together Noah's Ark. He sees himself as having that responsibility. He's collecting things, because eventually there's going to be an apocalypse in the universe and he wants to get things to safety. That's a really interesting aspect of the character."

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 begins filming in February 2016 at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.
