Ever since a sequel to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY was announced, Marvel Studios and James Gunn have had some fun with its title. Literally brushing in the Number 2 on the original film's title card as well as its original release date. But then scratching that first release date out for its current one.
Gunn has previously joked with his fans that the full title for sequel will be "Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Guardians of the Galaxy," while fans have speculated sequel titles like: "Guardians of the Galaxy: Annihilation," "Guardians of the Galaxy: War of Kings" and even "Guardians of the Galaxy: Planet Hulk."
Moments ago the writer/director teased on his Twitter post there will be a subtitle by using the hashtag '#NotEventheTitle' as he has completed the first draft of the script. And look at how the title is centered on the page compared to the byline, there's definitely a subtitle that will eventually be announced.
