Paul Rudd Did a Little Method Acting During ANT-MAN by Wearing the Suit on His Days Off to "Feel the Part"

Two years ago if someone told you Paul Rudd would be a super hero you probably would have snickered at the thought. Then, Rudd was officially announced as ANT-MAN. Personally, I immediately loved the casting choice because Ant-Man is such a different type of hero and the role needed an actor who could be a less serious than the likes of those who need to play Thor and Captain America with a serious face.

So Marvel brought on a comedy actor and while some fans didn't get how great of a fit this really was at the time, early reactions to ANT-MAN seem to conclude Rudd was the perfect fit.

Rudd isn't really known for being a method actor and sticking to his characters even when he's not filming scenes. But at the ANT-MAN press junket in Los Angeles is sounds like Rudd did incorporate his new super hero persona more than usual by wearing the suit on his days off.

"...I loved this suit and I think it’s the coolest looking suit of all. And I loved wearing it because it was not that uncomfortable and even on my days off I’d wear it. It helped me feel the part. There’s something that happens when you get in that thing that it’s inevitable. I would stand differently; I would feel like Ant-Man in that thing…"

It really is a good looking suit and it's already being rumored the suit seen in ANT-MAN will be upgraded and modernized when Rudd appears in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR next year. This will most likely happen due to the fact the suit in ANT-MAN is still the original design Hank Pym made decades earlier. (And to sell more Ant-Man toys, of course!)
