Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment might be ahead of Marvel Studios when it comes to developing a female-led super hero movie, but two of Hollywood's biggest women are reportedly looking at teaming up for CAPTAIN MARVEL.
WONDER WOMAN releases before CAPTAIN MARVEL and has been in development since late 2014. Plus, WONDER WOMAN already has its leading lady in Gal Gadot and its director Petty Jenkins. CAPTAIN MARVEL does not have a leading actor or a director attached (yet). The project just started development in April after Marvel announced GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY writer Nicole Perlman and Pixar's Inside Out writer Meg LeFAuve were hired to co-write a script.
Now a new report from The Washington Post has come out stating that both Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron want to work on a film together and that film is CAPTAIN MARVEL.
"Marvel has been courting Angie to direct the project and Charlize is a clear fan favourite for the starring role. If Charlize were to get the part, Angie would almost certainly sign on to work with her new pal."
Back in February, there was a rumor claiming Marvel Studios was eyeing up Jolie to direct CAPTAIN MARVEL but that rumor got quiet pretty quickly. But now it seems like the rumor may have a little more to it as it has resurfaced months later.
