Tyrese Gibson Teases Fans About Possibly Being Cast as GREEN LANTERN John Stewart



Social Media can be a powerful tool. Especially when fans starts campaigning for an actor to land a coveted role. This is what happened with actor Tyrese Gibson as fans starting making artwork of him as Green Lantern John Stewart, which has snowballed into the possibility of Gibson landing the role.

First of all, Gibson posted this image to his Instagram account teasing that Chris Pine as Hal Jordan rumor could be true (see that story link at the end of this post) and he will join Pine as John Stewart in a GREEN LANTERN reboot.

Gibson also spoke with ETOnline and implied that he has spoken with Warner Bros. about the role.

"There are certain things I can't speak on. But I will say, however this works out, it's definitely the fans' fault. I was at home minding my own business and fans start creating these fan-made videos of me as Green Lantern and I looked into it. I've been a fan of the Green Lantern. I took the oath, and I had a meeting at Warner Bros. and certain things were said and talked about. We'll just see what happens.
"Listen, these muscles are here and they're ready to be used. 
"I'm coming into this thing with some fans and some box office receipts behind my name and I say that proudly and humbly. I just think I deserve a shot at suiting up and becoming the Green Lantern."

When asked about a possible appearance and announcement at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con International for the big WB panel Gibson said," You never know."

With SDCC less than two weeks away, fans could know more about Gibson's potential involvement in the DC Cinematic Universe soon.
