ANT-MAN: Michael Douglas Talks Scenes With Corey Stoll and Teases Fans Might See Him in the Ant-Man Suit



Marvel's ANT-MAN seems to be just as much about the redemption of the father - daughter relationship as it will be about a mentor passing the torch to his student. In the film, it's known that Michael Douglas' Hank Pym was once the mentor of Corey Stoll's Darren Cross but a divide comes between them because Cross wants to profit on Pym's shrinking technology while Pym does not because he knows that in the wrong hands his Pym Particles tech can be very, very dangerous.

Once Pym and Cross have opposing views, Pym has to find a new student to mentor and Paul Rudd's Scott Lang becomes Pym's new understudy. Pym teaches Lang to use the Ant-Man suit in order to stop Cross and his newer, modern Yellowjacket suit.

Douglas spoke with several websites and blogs recently about sharing scenes with Stoll and how impressed he was with the actor's ability to be the movie's villain.

"The biggeset surprise was Corey Stoll. Corey was a great great villain," Douglas said per MomOnTheSide. "In the scenes I had with him he brought much more strength and dynamo then I ever had anticipated. He had this whole subplot of me being his father figure and reaching out for my acceptance, which is Haunting. He played this and it had a real depth to it."

Douglas then teased that fans might see him in the Ant-Man suit at some point in the movie (probably in one of the flashback scenes).

"Whose to say I wasn’t in a few of those suits? Hard to tell with those helmets down…. This is the Marvel history of staying so true to the time frame of all of these pictures. Yes Pym was leading in the late 60’s and 70’s. Now at this age, and if you get small that many times it’s exhausting, so we had to find somebody of a new generation to carry that on. I was happy for the role of Hank Pym, and a limited amount of action in an action film is fine by me."
