When Disney first bought Lucasfilm, and the rights to Star Wars and Indiana Jones, one of my initial thoughts was that Disney was going to try and find a way to utilize one of cinemas greatest villains of all time some how. But Darth Vader was last seen dead in RETURN OF THE JEDI and I had no idea how this would or could happen.
I mean... it's frickin' Darth Vader and he's as much of an icon as Star Wars is iconic and of course Disney wants to make money on him, and finally they are. First with his appearances in the STAR WARS: REBELS animated series and he is now rumored to have a role in a future live action movie.
According to BirthMoviesDeath, Darth Vader will be seen in STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE.
"Darth Vader will be in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. He will not be the main antagonist but he will be working behind the scenes, pulling strings and will appear onscreen. Literally, I'm told - he'll be showing up via viewscreen or holo projection or something. Will our heroes actually run into the Dark Lord of the Sith in person? My source wouldn't say. My source was also mum about Grand Moff Tarkin, who was of course the commander of the fully operational Death Star."
If true, this is perfect. Fans both young and old get to see more Darth Vader and Disney gets to make a crap load of box office cash because of his appearance and on all his merchandise. This is one rumor I really hope comes true.
