Jennifer Lawrence Changes Her Tune and Says She Would Listen if Fox Wanted Her Back as Mystique in Future X-MEN Movies

Actors can be very weird when it comes to reprising roles on the big screen after their contract for the role is up. When that contract expires they sometimes like to talk in circles about returning.

Hugh Jackman did it recently when saying he would not be Wolverine much longer, then he said he would play the role until he died and shortly after that he said WOLVERINE would be his last movie in the role. Now Jennifer Lawrence is doing the same.

Back in March, Lawrence said she was done as Mystique since X-MEN: APOCALYPSE was the third and final film on her contract. Now in an interview with Yahoo! Movies, Lawrence has changed her tune.

“I want them to ask me, and then I’m just going to see how I feel in the moment when they ask. It might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I’ll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and feel like I’m going to throw up, I’ll say no. And if I don’t, I’ll ask how much they want to pay me.”

The real question is... does Fox even need Lawrence in their X-Men movies anymore? Her current movie price tag is about $20 million per film and that's not a suitable price tag for any large ensemble franchise movie, unless your name is Robert Downey Jr. Plus, the new X-Men movie introduces more female heroes like Jean Grey, Storm and Psylocke so it remains to be seen if Mystique even has a future role post-Apocalypse release.
