SDCC 2015 - AVENGERS: ULTRON REVOLUTION Animated Series Will Bring New Heroes to the Rebranded Series
At Marvel Animation's San Diego Comic-Con presentation they went through their new slate of animated series coming to Disney XD in 2015 and 2016. Officially out and canceled is HULK AND THE AGENTS OF SMASH (Thank goodness!). Officially taking its place is GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, which premieres this fall.
MARVEL'S AVENGERS ASSEMBLE is getting a makeover and while it's been greenlit for Season 3, it will be rebranded as AVENGERS: ULTRON REVOLUTION. Obviously, the main antagonist of the rebranded series will be the evil maniacal robot Ultron, and in order to fight this killer robot the Avengers will need to bring new member into the fold.
Marvel Animation (via Nerdist) officially announced who some of the new Avengers team members will be when the 2016 series launches. The list includes: Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), Vision and the Inhumans.
As you can see from this list (sans Ms. Marvel), Marvel Animation is mirroring Marvel Studios' upcoming slate of Phase 3 heroes who are being added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, there was no mention of Doctor Strange.
