Since John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein confirmed they are writing the next SPIDER-MAN movie this past weekend, they've been talking to the media teasing what the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the hero will be like. So far it's known that this SPIDER-MAN will have a much larger focus on Parker being in high school with a John Hughes-vibe.
While speaking with USA Today, the writers confirmed this will not be a full blown origin story (thank goodness!). They also hinted at Peter Parker a little bit.
“We have time to sort of develop the powers with him, and experience the wish fulfillment and also just the fact that it’s really alienating [to have Spidey skills],” Daley said.
Goldstein added that, “The tone will be really grounded, about a real kid who gets these powers and what that means with a geeky, outcast kid… as we were in high school."
Actor Tom Holland stars in the still untitled SPIDER-MAN movie which will be directed by Jon Watts, starts filming in summer 2016 and releases on July 28, 2017.
