DEADPOOL Director Tim Miller Jokes About CABLE in a Sequel

Take this as the headline states... a joke was made by DEADPOOL director Tim Miller. But sometimes where there is smoke, there is fire. Or sometimes a sparking cable on the ground.

This could be / might be / should be a discussion happening behind closed doors right now between Miller, actor Ryan Reynolds, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and comic creator Rob Liefeld.

Miller spoke with Empire and teased a Marvel hero who many fans have been eagerly awaiting on the big screen. This is not a confirmation, just a tease done in a joking manner

"There aren’t really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable. If we don’t put Cable in Deadpool 2 I think we’ll be run out of town on a rail."

Of course DEADPOOL needs to be a big hit for Fox to green light a sequel, but after its two trailers have combined for over 5.6 million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours (as of the publishing of this post) it seems idiotic to even consider the possibility that DEADPOOL would flop. It's the one Marvel character fans have been dying to see done right in a movie since his debacle of an appearance in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.

Deadpool and Cable have a love-hate relationship in the comics and they even co-starred in a comic book series, called 'Cable & Deadpool,' which lasted for 50 issues from 2004-2008.

Only a big box office performance by DEADPOOL will show Fox they have their next big tentpole franchise on their hands in their X-Men movie universe. And only then does that make the odds of Cable appearing that much greater because the banter between these two in the comics is something that would make for great movie dialogue.
