DOCTOR STRANGE Described as Psychedelic by its Cinematograhper; Teases by Director Scott Derrickson Definitely Confirm This

If you've been following The Daily SuperHero's coverage of next year's DOCTOR STRANGE movie, you should already know that it will be a trippy looking psychedelic movie. This has been confirmed by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige in his past interviews, and it's been teased as such by director Scott Derrickson on his Twitter account.

So when DOCTOR STRANGE cinematographer Ben Davis spoke at a recent lecture, per ScreenDaily via ComicBook, his teases should not surprise.

“It has a very psychedelic grounding, and it’s not your typical Marvel action movie. Most of the work within it is about other dimensions. And I described it, I think, when I was talking to Marvel as Marvel’s Fantasia, in a way, because it’s so sort of out there and different to everything else that they’ve done.
“It’s all very out there. I can’t really say much more about it, I’m afraid. But I think it’ll be really interesting, and it’s a very dark movie, I’m pleased to say.”

This definitely goes along the lines of Dr. Stephen Strange's earliest Marvel comic adventures in the 'Strange Tales' books. It also matches up with some of Derrickson's recent social media posts.

So yeah... DOCTOR STRANGE is going to be a mind trip mix of psychedelic colors and dark imagery. Exactly how it should be.

DOCTOR STRANGE begins filming this fall in London and releases on November 4, 2016.
