This is really weird. While speaking with BBC Newsbeat FANTASTIC FOUR actor Miles Teller said he doesn't think the movie will do well on the review website Rotten Tomatoes.
"Rarely are films of this size critically well received. This is not a movie we're going to go on Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent. We did try to do something more than soulless, popcorn action. We tried to make something coming from a more dramatic standpoint so we're hoping that people enjoy it and recognise that we're trying to do something original."
In other words, Teller must not know how Rotten Tomatoes really works or he doesn't realize that a lot of recent super hero films have received great scores.
Fellow 20th Century Fox movies like X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (87%) and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST (91%) did really well on Rotten Tomatoes. And then there's a bunch of others like: BATMAN BEGINS (85%), THE DARK KNIGHT (94%), IRON MAN (94%), THE AVENGERS (92%), CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (89%) and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (91%) all of which had terrific review scores.
So yeah... that's definitely a weird thing for Teller to say because critics loved all the movies listed above and none of them were "soulless, popcorn action." Unless he's not confident in the movie which would be ridiculous for any actor to expose prior to its release. It was also noted that Teller had not yet seen the movie himself just days before it hits theaters.
