Fox is ramping up casting for GAMBIT before it enters into production and filming in October, in Louisiana. According to Deadline, Fox has reportedly found its leading lady to play opposite of Channing Tatum. Actor Lea Seydoux (Spectre, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) is said to have been offered the role of Belladonna Boudreaux a.k.a. Bella.
If you're not familiar with Bella in the comics she grew up and was close friends with Remy even though they were a part of two different Thieves Guilds. When the two Guilds arranged for Bella and Remy to marry, Bella's brother challenged Remy. Gambit killed him and was told to leave New Orleans by the Guilds, leaving Bella behind. It is not known if the film will use this as the basis for the movie adaptation.
GAMBIT will be directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and releases on October 7, 2016.
