Marvel TV Head Talks About Meeting LUKE CAGE in JESSICA JONES

JESSICA JONES is not only introducing it's leading lady who is a tough brawler to the audiences, the show will also introduce LUKE CAGE (also known as Power Man) before he gets his own Netflix series. Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb recently spoke, via IGN, about actor Mike Colter as LUKE CAGE.

"He is important to the show and he is important to the story of Jessica Jones and who she is. It would not be Jessica Jones unless you at least understood how Luke affected her life and where she is. What’s wonderful about it is they’re still very early on in this world so who he is and what he’s doing and where he is in his story, allows us to tell a great deal of story that happens before and story that happens afterwards. So you’re getting him not quite in the middle, but sort of in the early part of the middle."

Loeb then talks about how this will relate to the LUKE CAGE show when it comes out sometime in late 2016.

"So when we get to start on the Luke Cage show, you'll have hopefully watched Jessica, so you know who Luke is, but his story and where he came from and most importantly where he’s going is what that series is about and so it will very much feel like you can watch that show and never have seen Jessica."

In the comics, Jones and Cage have an on-and-off romance which leads to the couple having a baby and getting married. It's doubtful this will happen in Season 1 of either of these two Netflix shows.

In case you're not familiar with LUKE CAGE, he is best known as the other half of the Heroes For Hire team with IRON FIST. He gains his powers in a botched Super Soldier experiment and his power set includes: superhuman strength, an accelerated healing factor and unbreakable skin that is impervious to damage and extreme temperatures.
