This post may contain SPOILERS for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. You've been warned.
You've seen it in the BATMAN V. SUPERMAN extended trailer from the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con so you know the body of General Zod is being used in some way in next year's big movie. The 'how' and 'why' are currently unknown but actor Michael Shannon spoke with TheDailyBeast and he seems to have revealed that Zod's role in the movie might be larger than previously thought.
"The thing about the whole Krypton universe, apparently, is that even when you destroy them, there are ghosts. The first [film], Jor-El is there even though he’s been dead for lord knows how long. I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it’s like that ghost thing. But I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. I get very nervous."
Um... okay. So Zod will be like a ghost or hologram image like Jor-El was in MAN OF STEEL when Clark Kent found the Krypton ship? This is still one of the mysteries surrounding BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and it sounds like Shannon is teasing a potentially bigger role for Zod's body in the film... maybe.
BATMAN V. SUPERMAN releases on March 25, 2016.
