SPIDER-MAN Director Jon Watts Confirms Peter Parker is 15-Years-Old in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
New SPIDER-MAN actor Tom Holland is 18-years-old but he definitely looks younger than his actual age. So young the actor will be playing the youngest version of Peter Parker that's been seen on the big screen.
Director Jon Watts has confirmed to Empire (via Yahoo! and SuperHeroHype) that Parker will be 15 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben,” Watts said. “I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie. We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now… Tom was pretty perfect. He’s very athletic. He can actually do a backflip! If he didn’t already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top the kid is Spider-Man.”
The still untitled SPIDER-MAN movie is set to begin filming in summer 2016 and releases on July 27, 2017.
