How Kylo Ren's Crossguard Lightsaber Blades Work and Stephen Colbert's Attempt to Explain it Revisited From a Year Ago



Believe it or not it's been nearly a year since the first STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS teaser was released during Thanksgiving weekend. Fast-forward a year later and we are just over a month away from the movie's theatrical release.

Over on Reddit, an image has been revealed regarding the crossguard lightsaber of Kylo Ren. In the image below it discloses its design an ancient one and how the smaller blades are created.




Also going back to a year ago, Stephen Colbert was nearing the end of his run on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report before taking over The Late Show. On his show after the first teaser debuted he was geeking out over the teaser and he nearly explained the how and why Kylo Ren's lightsaber works. 

Colbert said three crystals were needed in order to create the smaller blades of the crossguard, which was a logical explanation, but he was just a bit off as the smaller blades are now confirmed to be vented from the main blade. Watch his explanation below...
