INCREDIBLE HULK Solo Movie Collaboration Between Universal and Marvel Studios is Not Promising Right Now

By now you should know that Universal Studios has some of the movie rights for solo INCREDIBLE HULK films while Marvel Studios has the character rights to use Hulk in a supporting role in their other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. This is why there hasn't been and won't be, as of right now, any INCREDIBLE HULK sequel anytime soon.

While speaking with Yahoo! Movies, actor Mark Ruffalo detailed the rocky relationship between Universal and Marvel Studios for a future Hulk solo movie.

"Marvel and Universal famously don’t get along very well, and so that’s working against us, definitely. But I know for a fact that everyone is holding out hope that one day we can do it. But the nature of the relationship right now, it’s a little prohibitive. And I hope that that changes, that changes with regimes, it changes over the course of time. But right now it doesn’t look particularly promising."

However, Ruffalo says the two sides are still working at making something happen (a la a potential studio partnership like Marvel has with Sony for Spider-Man) for a future Hulk movie.

"I think they’ve been working on it... Yeah, I think ultimately that’s what they’re after, it working out for both sides. But like I said, Marvel and Universal are just not having a good time together right now."

Until some kind of deal can be made to bring another Hulk solo movie to the big screen, fans will have to settle with seeing Hulk make appearances in THOR: RAGNAROK and the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR films.
