Robert Downey Jr. and Co-Director Joe Russo Tease SPIDER-MAN in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Unless you've been off-the-grid, you know Sony and Marvel Studios have partnered up to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, Spider-Man (who will be played by actor Tom Holland) is going to first appear in next year's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

This has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, via Robert Downey Jr, when they were on set of the production in Atlanta.

“[Don] Cheadle and I are just going, ‘Wow, dude, look at this.’ We’re now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon]," Downey Jr. said. "But we’re also looking around like, ‘Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man…?’ I mean it’s like wow, this thing is just crazy.”

Co-director Joe Russo, then, chimed in on Holland being the next Spider-Man.

“He’s also a dancer and a gymnast. He fits the part like you can’t believe,” Joe adds. “Another thing that we were really pushing for was to go young with the part. It’s the only way to differentiate it from what’s been done in the past. Get him as close as you can to the age that [the actor] is.”

Now we all wait until the first look at Spider-Man in Civil War is officially revealed.
