A collective sigh can be heard after reading this headline because some of the issues that some Thor fans had with his two films was there was too much time spent on Earth. While some Earth moments were fun and necessary, it seems like Marvel is ready to take Thor away from Earth for more adventures in the cosmos.
Studio head Kevin Feige spoke a little bit about THOR: RAGNAROK to Empire (via CBM) and divulged a little info about the next Thor movie.
“I don't think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie's going to be. It's going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we've got new characters that will show how big we're swinging on this. And we have a Hulk.
“The film takes place within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”
Sounds like Thor will be explore more of the Nine Realms (and maybe beyond) with Hulk helping him through his next adventure.
THOR: RAGNAROK will begin filming in summer 2016 in Australia and releases on November 3, 2017.
