In the comics, Apocalypse has his Four Horsemen whose roster has changed over time throughout the comic universe. He empowers his four followers with greater power to do his bidding.
Next summer's X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will take this concept and adapt it to the big screen with Magneto, Angel (who looks like Archangel), Psylocke and Storm all being the villain's acolytes for his evil intent of rebooting the Earth to his liking.
Speaking of Magneto, Entertainment Weekly released a new piece of concept art showcasing how much more powerful Apocalypse has made him in the new movie. (Like Magneto needed to be any more powerful.)
Director Bryan Singer issued a quote for the above concept art image.
“One of Apocalypse’s many powers is he can imbue other mutants with greater ones. Magneto is demonstrating a small taste of what he can do now. Magneto is already enormously powerful…. Now Apocalypse gives him powers far beyond what we’ve seen before.”
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE releases on May 27, 2016.
