Christopher Nolan Has Moved on and Didn't Care Who Directed Batman After He Did Because Someone Always Will
There's a story making the rounds online right now stating how MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN director Zack Snyder sought out the blessing from The Dark Knight Trilogy director Christopher Nolan to be the next man to bring Batman to the big screen. An honorable gesture but one that really doesn't matter when it comes down to it.
This is all coming from a snippet in Empire magazine's latest issue (via CBR), however, the actual quote makes it sound like Nolan didn't care.
Here's what's being report of Snyder saying to Nolan:
"You tell me if you don't want me to do it." Snyder said to Nolan. Nolan, then, responded saying, "Well, we don't own these characters. When you're done making Batman movies, someone else will [make them]."
Snyder, then, told Empire he thought Nolan, "found it a little bit hard."
Sure, Snyder asked Nolan but nowhere does it say anything about Nolan giving him a blessing. In fact Snyder thought Nolan did but there is no quote from Nolan saying it.
Nolan had his time with Batman and he perfectly stated that it really doesn't matter who makes Batman movies because there will always be someone else to do it after. Nolan didn't care who was next and he has since moved on.
