DOCTOR STRANGE: Actor Benedict Wong Has Been Cast as Wong

Let the name confusion begin as The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed with their sources that actor Benedict Wong (The Martian, Prometheus) will be the character Wong in DOCTOR STRANGE.

It's quite the name paradox as not only is Wong playing Wong but he will be right alongside of another Benedict as, in the comics, Wong is the assistant (better than calling him a sidekick, ugh) and sort of a bodyguard of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Stephen Strange. Although it is unsure if Wong will portray similar roles for Doctor Strange in the film.

If you're not familiar with Wong in the comics, he's been right alongside Doctor Strange since the 1960s and he is very educated as a healer and he is also a martial artist who is like the bodyguard (literally) and protector of Doctor Strange's body whenever Strange is mentally projecting his mind into other dimensions and/or the Astral plane.

DOCTOR STRANGE is currently filming in the U.K. and releases on November 4, 2016.
