AGENT CARTER Season 2 Episode 6 & 7: Life of the Party Recap

The double episode of AGENT CARTER packed a punch with a surprise return of our favorite bad girl: Dottie. Yes, the crazy Soviet assassin is finally back. After Peggy has the idea for Jason to built a containment chamber for him, which will keep him in a physical form by using zero matter, Peggy has the best and possibly worst idea that could totally backfire on them: Bring in Dottie.

Seeing as none of them could get close enough to Whitney to get a blood sample, the next course of action is to bring in an unknown face. After breaking her out (and electrocuting her when she tries to escape), Peggy and Sousa use Dottie in their plan to get a blood sample from Whitney.

At the campaign event, Jarvis distracts Jack Thompson who is there as a guest with Vernon masters, while Dottie easily take the blood sample from Whitney While there Dottie also sneaks away to see Whitney's power up close and personal. Whitney, after stopping the council from trying to take her, kills Chadwick and three other members. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

While Sousa and Peggy nearly get into the hot and heavy in the surveillance van Dottie ultimately gets caught by Thompson, but Jarvis recovers the zero matter sample. After getting threatened by Masters, Jack Thompson visits Peggy and threatens/warns her that she needs to stop digging into the zero matter and Whitney Frost.

Dottie captured by the even more dangerous Whitney Frost, on the orders of one Vernon Masters. He seems to have turned from a manipulator to the manipulated as he seems to be doing this on Whitney’s orders.

The next episode comes right on the heels on the last one with Peggy feeling the guilt for Dottie’s capture and is resolved to find her 'fr-enemy.' Dottie, who is bored to tears by the so called torture of Vernon Masters. However, after a torture session with Whitney, she spills all of Peggy’s secrets and what she had discovered about Jason. Ana and Edwin Jarvis have been belong Jason get the containment chamber fixed so they can get him stabilized to the physical plane. They are successful and Jason is able to touch and feel in that contained area. Huzzah!

Meanwhile, Peggy and Jarvis fall right into a trap when going to rescue Dottie. They're captured and Peggy realizes that Dottie spilled all the details to Whitney and realize that Whitney isn't after them, but Jason. They rush back to Stark's house, but are too late as Whitney is leaving after shooting Ana. Jarvis is inconsolable as they rush her to be hospital and Dottie escapes in the commotion, shooting a police officer on her way to freedom.

I was so glad that Ana began to have more of a role as she plays assistant to Jason as they create the containment chamber and even confided in her fears of her husband getting hurt in this spy business. Ironically, it was her who ended up shot and her fate left up in the air.. Will this foreshadow Jarvis completely getting out of the spy business?

Whitney is definitely taking an interest in Jason. They both represent the different ways that zero matter can be manipulated. She even goes so far as to prey on how he is discriminated because of the color of his skin, similar to how she is because she is a woman. Jason was rattled, but he still refused and taken against his will, but will he change his mind? Will Whitney turn the kind-hearted Jason into a villain?

Jack Thompson also seems to be getting a clue on Vernon Masters corruption. Will he finally realize he’s on the wrong side or will he continue to look the other way?

In excitement after successfully building the containment chambered , Jason kisses Peggy leaving her surprised and increases her conflict due to her near kiss with Sousa in the van. The love triangle at its peak but hopefully it won't carry on and Peggy will make her choice before the end.

Next week is a another double episode (yay!) before the finale. I’m betting on a big death to kick off the Peggy and Whitney showdown.
