DEADPOOL Wins: Massive $117 Million 3-Day Weekend Opening Estimate Beats Fox's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

DEADPOOL has won.

With Thursday and Friday U.S. box office numbers in it seems like Fox foolish to wait so long to green light this movie because The Hollywood Reporter states the film is now estimated to earn around $117 million in its 3-day domestic release and a whopping $130 million for the 4-day President's Day and Valentine's Day extended weekend.

This is a bigger domestic opening than GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY ($94M), CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER ($95M) and even X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST ($90M).

The earliest estimates had DEADPOOL coming in around $55-$65 million and then last week that was pushed up to $75 million.

DEADPOOL is officially more than just a comic book fan-favorite Marvel character... he's a certified blockbuster movie franchise now after winning over critics and the general audience. Congrats to everyone involved, especially lead actor Ryan Reynolds who has been trying to get this movie made for over a decade.
