Toy Fair 2016 in New York is around the corner but Hasbro has just sent out an email confirming there will not be any ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY toys revealed at the trade show.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone because Hasbro did the same thing at last year's Toy Fair 2015 show when they held back all STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS toys from the event.
Most likely, Hasbro is waiting for either Star Wars Celebration in London this June or at San Diego Comic-Con in July to potentially reveal the merch and toys for ROGUE ONE.
Here's a snippet from the Hasbro email sent to The Daily SuperHero:
"We wanted to let you know that there will be no toys based on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story shown at Toy Fair this year. While there will be a small selection of new Star Wars toys revealed at Toy Fair and in the days leading up to it, none of them will be directly based on the new characters from the upcoming film."
Bummer, but not really a surprise either since Lucasfilm prefers secrecy over spoiling anything for their Star Wars films. This is probably going to be across the board for all manufacturers who are working with Lucasfilm on ROGUE ONE merch.
While there won't be any coverage on new ROGUE ONE toys, don't forget The Daily SuperHero will be on the Toy Fair show floor next weekend with full press access. So stay tuned for all the reveals of DC, Marvel and non-ROGUE ONE Star Wars toys.
